Fashion Without Borders Africa is celebrating its 11th year of igniting creativity, fostering talent, and breaking barriers across the African fashion industry. This pioneering initiative is proud to announce the upcoming 11th Johannesburg edition, a milestone that marks over a decade of empowering underprivileged designers and models from all corners of Africa.

Founded with a mission to empower and elevate emerging African talent, Fashion Without Borders Africa has become a trailblazer in providing opportunities for underrepresented designers and models, giving them a global platform to showcase their work. What began in South Africa has now expanded to Botswana and the Democratic Republic of Congo, with plans to reach even more countries across the continent.

Serge Kabisoso, Co-Founder of Efigy Productions, the company behind Fashion Without Borders Africa, says, “The fashion industry holds enormous potential to transform lives, especially for women and youth. Over the last 11 years, we’ve seen firsthand how African fashion is not just about creativity; it’s about business, innovation, and empowerment. The theme for this year’s event, “Fashion Chic: Promoting Sustainability through Eco-Conscious Fashion Practices,” not only celebrates the creativity and diversity of African designers but also underscores the importance of sustainable practices within the industry. Fashion Without Borders Africa is committed to driving innovation, promoting inclusivity, and embracing eco-conscious solutions that will inspire future generations of designers and fashion professionals.

In honour of its 11-year milestone, Fashion Without Borders Africa will host a Masterclass series featuring some of the industry’s most renowned experts, offering invaluable insights and practical advice to aspiring fashion professionals. These sessions are designed to equip the next wave of African fashion talent with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed on both the local and global stage.

The event lineup includes exciting showcases, including a Kiddies Masterclass and two fashion shows, bringing together over 15 designers and 40 upcoming models from across the continent. Each showcase promises to be an unforgettable experience, as young creatives take centre stage to demonstrate their talent, vision, and unique perspectives on fashion.
